After inquiring seevral times about a number of unfilled rebates, I got an email from ecsnetworks, the ones who process a lot of rebate sites, that Brands for Less has filed for bankruptcy.

I'm assuming that as a result all unpaid rebates are no longer going to be paid.

I think that's a safe assumption.

Back in the day (circa 1999) I got many a rebate check from BFL. I remember several times ordering a bunch of 40% off MSRP DVDs at Reel.com using one of the plentiful $10-off-$25 coupons, then getting both a $25-off-$50 rebate and free shipping rebate via BFL. Final average DVD cost was like $5 or $6 per, and that was when the MSRPs were generally higher too. Those were the days my friend...

It was too good to last, but I still smile when I think of how all those brilliant e-commerce venture capitalists helped finance the early days of my DVD collection.
