I decided to purchase some smaller Def Techs because of
budget restrictions-just bought a new house.
I don't know what sub to get. I have listened to velo, polk,
boston and a couple of others. Velo sounded pretty good.
Its hard to part with the cash for a SVS or HSU since I
have not heard them. So I'll take any suggestions please.

    setup: frnt-mon 200
    rear-bp1.2x
    cntr-c2
    sub--?
    rcvr-yamaha rxv730

Dan,I also run a full Def-tech setup, but I was not impressed with their subs. I listened to all the subs on your list plus the Paradigms. I felt the same way,I can't listen to a SVS,but after hearing all the high praise I took the plunge even though I'm in Canada. All I can tell you is to try the SVS. In my opinion it is superior to all the others except the HSU which I've never heard, although they get great reviews as well. Hope this helps and welcome to the forum. You will get a lot of help around here.

You'll definitelly be safe going with any SVS, HSU, or Adire product even though you can't hear them first.

Thanks Wayne and Jeff for your input. I don't think I have
read one complaint about svs or hsu on this forum. I may
    have to go that way.

No problem Dan. If you decide that your interested in a SVS,fire a E-mail to Tom or Ron. Describe your current setup and your room to them and they will be able to help you decide which model. Both are very helpful and knowledgeable.
