I want to watch Blonde Ice which I've never seen. Apparently, Leslie Brooks plays a villainous woman which should be interesting. There are some unwatchable presentations on YouTube and two DVDs.

Does anyone know if either DVD presents the film decently?

Robin9, are the two DVDs you're referring to Alpha Video and VCI Entertainment? I have both. The Alpha is terrible (no surprise--haha), but the VCI is a marked improvement, though still nothing spectacular (there is a restoration specialist noted before the film begins).

I usually watch old movies like these on a small portable DVD player because they look better on small screens, but I made the comparison of "Blonde Ice" on a 32-inch screen.

Anyway, think I'll watch this tonight. Been awhile...

No, of the two I've found, one is from Starry Night Video (of whom I've never heard!)

and the other is from Reel Vault.

I'll try to locate the VCI disc

I used to own a DVD, the image wasn't very good (public domain) about the same as YouTube. It's a familiar tale but Leslie Brooks is easy on the eye.
She was indeed. I'll post some pictures of her in the Blondes thread

The VCI DVD is from 2003. Ebay has many inexpensive copies for sale vs. Amazonmarketplace's higher prices.
I have the Alpha, which I didn't think was awful. 'Blonde Ice' shows on the MOVIES! channel every now and then.

TheFilmDetective restoration came out in 2017 and seems hard to find. But it is free to watch at TheFilmDetective.tv and TheFilmDetective YouTube channel.

Many thanks for that recommendation. I watched it last night - via a projector!!! - and found the film really interesting. I'm not now going to buy a DVD but if some label found good elements and issued a high quality disc, I would add that to my collection.

"Blonde Ice" is being shown on the MOVIES! OTA channel, Monday, 11/21/22, morning, 6:00 AM to 7:35 AM Eastern, in case anyone wants to see what the current version showing on TV looks like.
