What program is generally accepted as the best CD ripping software? I used to use Easy CD-DA extractor, but think I lost it somewhere along the line...

Rob and Brian are both right!
I use both programs, each using the LAME plug-in for MP3 conversion, and both are excellent. EAC is great for damaged discs. It's a little slower and not as user-friendly, but once you have the preferences set up coorectly, it's a great program. CDex is easier to use and faster.
You won't go wrong with either program.
