The Beatles suck.....
I'm sorry, I'm trying out for a part in a play. I'm audititiong for the role of thread farter. Did I sound convincing? :)
My favorite would have to be
"Hey Jude"
- for the longest time that I can remember, this was my favorite song ever, until it got replaced by "Layla"
Other notable mentions:
"In My Life"
"All My Loving"
"Yesterday"
"Let It Be"
"Across the Universe"
"Hello, Goodbye"
"I Am the Walrus"
"While My Guitar Gently Weeps"
"That Means A Lot" (off their Anthology disc set?)
Okay, I better stop before I list every single one of their damn songs.

Today my fave is...

Don't Let Me Down - love the rawness of the tune

Tomorrow it will be...

Hey Bulldog - woof!

The day after, I dunno, maybe...

Fool on the Hill

Everyday I have a diffent favorite. I love 90% of their songs with the entire fabric of my being.

In My Life was always "my" favorite Beatles song. I don't enjoy hearing everyone else pretending like it's their song. You guys can take "I wanna hold your hand." (clap clap)

For the more recognized tunes, I'm a big fan of "In My Life" and "Nowhere Man."

On the weirder side, I absolutely love "And Your Bird Can Sing" (including the Anthology 2 alternate version) and "Rain."

Notice I list no Mc Cartney songs ... ("The only thing you done was 'yesterday'") hehhe;)

Well, Louis, there's a reason they were called Lennon-McCartney songs. To quote John in his 1980 Playboy interview, discussing In My Life, "Paul helped with the middle eight".

George you are most correct sir. Paul did write the "Life is very short.." part - I had practically forgot that they actually wrote some songs together!!

It is, though, primarily a Lennon tune. I don't mean to slam Paul, it's just so mooch fun!

I do like Long and Winding Road and Golden Slumbers as well as Yesterday - I just think Lennon was driving most of the Beatles best stuff - particularly in the early days. Paul did get pretty good toward the end...then Linda got him into that 'pop' groove. b^tch!

I have no idea why, but I have always enjoyed the very same thing! :D
Seriously, I am convinced that there will always be a (separation-analysis) of the Paul and John faction among Beatle fans. It shouldn't ever be misconstrued that we don't respect the other's contribution to this great writing team. It's just fun! :)

Damn. The Beatles are probably up there with my top 2 or 3 bands of all time. I really don't like to pick one, but some of my favorites are:
I am the Walrus
Yellow Submarine
Hey Jude
A Hard Day's Night
...
(and about 40 others ;) )
:D

I Should Have Known Better
George, you scooped me. I remember many months ago, I mentioned in another thread that ISHKB was my favorite Beatles song; you chimed in, surprised, and agreed that it was yours as well. Ever since, whenever I see your name I think "hey, that's the dude that likes I Should Have Known Better ."
So many stunning songs to choose from. I'll cite what I think is their most lyrical, beautiful tune: Here, There, and Everywhere. What a gorgeous song.
To lead a better life, I need my love to be here,
Here, making each day of the year,
Changing my life with a wave of her hand;
Nobody can deny that there's something there.
There, running my hands through her hair
Both of us thinking how good it can be;
Someone is speaking but she doesn't know he's there.
I want her everywhere
And if she's beside me I know I need never care
But to love her is to meet her everywhere
Knowing that love is to share;
Each one believing that love never dies,
Watching her eyes and hoping I'm always there
I want her everywhere

Jon
