    Hi guys,

I miss my Elite amp. After a downgrade due to a move I now have a Pioneer 815 (or something like that).

I saw the site now shows a new model, the Elite VSX-74TXVi.

looks good on print and am excited that has 2 HMDI inputs and even upscales (or converts I guess) all to the HDMI out so I can just have 1 input to my RPTV for all my stuff with like 3 component in and tons of other AV inputs. I am dissapointed that there is only 2 coaxial in but 3 or 4 optical in.

but I guess the real question is, how does it sound?

THis sucker looks nice and all but only retail for like 1/4 of their flagship. I would have thought a new receiver with HDMI would be their new flagship.

Anyone see a reason to stay clear from it?

Rolando: Go to the avsforum.com site and do a search for
vsx74. There is a detail thread regarding this Elite
receiver. Enough information to keep you busy for several hours.

I've heard it has a new design amplifier that is supposed to be more efficient and lighter. Apparently the warm sound that has become so familiar with Pioneer owners has changed too. better/worse?
