pixel dropout? moire'? overall for the $'s and the dark environment i like the xv-z1u, b4 i spend major $$$'s on the cineperf-YES, the screen HAS to be perforated-i'd like some opinions. i've chosen 1.5 gain and 90" diagonal, 4:3 aspect ratio. thanks! steve.

I was always told that perf. screen + digital PJ = Moire. Perf. screen should be OK with CRT PJ but the pixels and the holes (depending how big the perf. is) may lead to the Moire effect and visible holes if you sit too close. This also depends on projection angles, viewing angles, and distance from screen. Try regular screen (cheaper too) and put center channel above, below, or in front of screen (letterbox area of image). In the end the only way to know is to try it. I'd bet Stewart will let you return it if you're not happy with it.
