I was going to spin over to my local b&m on my lunch and pick up the JP DTS disk. Is there still a risk of getting the poorly mastered one? Is there any identifying marks on the packaging?

Yes, there is still a risk of picking up the old edition, as there was no formal recall by Universal.

The easiest way to tell if you have the remastered version is to open the package and examine the inner ring of the disc, for the inscription "D2 R2".

And as offered in the many threads on this subject, the corrected version is supposed to have the technical spec grid on the back of the case printed in RED (instead of BLACK). But this seems to be somewhat random as some have corrected versions with revised hub codes but a black grid (like me).

If you get the defective release, just return it for another.

I remember, when I bought mine, the lady at Best Buy, did *NOT* let me open it in front of her, even though I told her that I would purchase it, if it was the Corrected DTS version. She said I would have to pay for it, and THEN I could open it! I did, and it turned out to be the corrected one. :)
