BestBuy.com has all Gamecube games no higher than $39.99! I don't know if these prices are in effect at brick & mortar.
Could this be a sign of the rumored permanent software price drop?

Last week it was X-Box games. Maybe it's a sign of a permanent drop, maybe they're just rotating.
As a scarred veteran of the console wars, let me say this:
Blades and razors.
You get more money from blades than you do razors, so you can afford to give away the razors to convince people that they need to buy your blades.
When you drop prices on the razor and it's accessories, you want to keep the prices high on blades to ensure your flow of revenue. If the drug store selling the blades wants to promote the razors by temporarily lowering the cost of blades, then that's THEIR business!

The prices have gone up, but they are still lower than they normally are. The lowest price now seems to be around $44.99.
