I wish a manufacterer would put out a simple, no frills dpl2 decoder that we could put between our pre-amps and power amps for those of us who wanna hold onto our old pre-amps, but are dying for dpl2.
I don't think it would cost too much to put one together, since virtually every reciever, even the low ends now have dpl2.

Outlaw Audio? Anyone?

I did exactly what Stepen is suggesting - I combined an HK 320 receiver with DPL-II and Logic-7 (it has pre-outs) with my older (but much more powerful) Carver C1000A.

I used the Carver directly for DD and DTS sources but feed all two channel sources into the HK for processing and feed the 5.1 output into the Carver 5.1 input.

A small, purpose designed product would be a more elegant solution, however, the above method certainly works in the absence of anything else...
