I now wonder if i should wait on buying the region 1 , because i just found out on october 23 theres going to be a region 2 release of this set. Being that its region 2, it might have a slightly better transfer.
Is that possible though? I saw it this week, and, while it didn't look like a film print, I don't think it could have been a DVD either. I didn't think DVD could be projected on to that big of a screen without losing some serious image quality.
Well, at least we know New Line is keeping the original mono and the newly-minted DTS-ES track. And those Infinifilm documentaries really seem fascinating to watch... I'll buy it.
And for the person who asked if the ANOES SE was going to have metal packaging, it won't. It'll just be a regular slimline Amaray case with a plastic slipcover.
When I saw it, it certainly looked like a DVD. It didn't hold up very well on a big screen. It was played through the little video projector they use for the pre-show videos.
I didn't see it but that's what I figured it would be. I was going to check it out but I didn't want to spend $9.50 on a ticket when I'm going to spend around $20 on the DVD in five days (plus it's the fourth time that I'm buying the movie- VHS, LD, first DVD) but now that I didn't, I feel like I missed out.
From what i read at the dvd talk review for this release, there is good news and bad news about the deleted scenes.First the good news is that there included, the bad news is you cant watch them by itself, there only viewable through one of the docs on disc 2.Im happy there on there regardless of not being viewable seperately.
Be sure to check out the review over at DVDTalk.com it has screenshot comparisons showing the new transfer. Sorry I'm not able to provide a direct link, I'm at work and DVDTalk.com has been blacklisted (probably because of the porn DVD reviews).
