With the 2022 variant of The Lost World, one receives precisely what one expects via a basic glance at the disc case whilst on display at your local Best Buy end cap.
A dirtied Sandra Bullock and Channing Tatum against an attractive jungle background. And that's basically what you receive when giving the film 111 minutes of your attention.
After viewing, you're not a more learned, nicer, meaner or possibly even a changed individual, except that you've lost 111 minutes of your life to a pretty programmer filled with cute repartees between the two leads, and some humor from bad dude Daniel Radcliffe, who wants something to be found in the aforementioned lost city. He's apparently mistaken Ms Bullock for Lara Croft.
The positive here for 4k UHD collectors, is that it's a beautifully rendered presentation, and Brad Pitt makes a fun brief appearance.
The film is destined to make the Dominican Republic a tourist location.
And in spite of reservations, the film pulled in around 200MM in world-wide gross, so someone was doing something right.
Image – 5 (Dolby Vision)
Audio – 5 (Dolby Atmos)
Pass / Fail – Pass
Plays nicely with projectors - Yes
Makes use of and works well in 4k - 5
