Newcomer, Natalie Erika James, has co-written and directed a film about dementia, and turned it
on its head into a discomforting, creepy something else.
An Australian production, it concerns a daughter and granddaughter coming to the aid
of an older woman who has gone missing, and then, just as mysteriously, returns.
It's extremely slow.
But builds during it 89 minute running time to make the dementia palpable, leading to
a conclusion that is both horrific and confusing.
Worth a shot, and as shot digitally, one presumes that the Blu-ray represents the
filmmaker's intent.
