Slipcover / Steelbook collectors are going to need a copy of Universal's new 4k release of Megan.
A decidedly high-end horror production via Blumhouse, it has been given both upgraded audio via Dolby Atmos, but also issued in anything but stardard Steelbook case.
A basic background of lightly metallic purple or deep lavender, the obverse displays Megan as she might have been seen in a display box, with and upper and lower quadrant, and the title logo in the center.
But what's unique here, and not an inexpensive proposition, is that the case is inches, meaning that the artwork is pressed into the steel.
On the inner portion is a faux manual that appears to be held in place by its corners.
This will undoubtedly a a First Edition only Steelbook, and word from the SBCAA is that it may eventually be one of those examples that hold collectors back from attaining a complete set.
As a Best Buy exclusive, it's still available for $29, but the writing seems to be on the wall with asking prices already up over $60 on eBay, and one vendor offering it as a bin for $99.99.
Remove the two discs, and you'll reveal more graphics on the inner right panel - Megan alternative fashion choices (sold separately).
Purchasing several copies of the Steelbook will give you multiple copies of the state of the art 4k disc within, containing both variants of the cuts. The investment is almost akin to getting discs free.
As to the 4k disc, for those who care, it's reference quality, with a superb use of Dolby Atmos, upgraded from the Blu-ray's 7.1
