This documentary by Michael J. Sheridan, which ran at this year's Cannes Film Festival, and was produced through Warner Brothers, shows precisely what can be done with photographs, archival footage, scenes from motion pictures and a well-written and spoken narration.
If, on occasion, my boredom and distaste for some of the newer documentaries produced for DVD tends to show on HTF, this film is the antidote.
With nary a talking head to be found in its entire ninety minutes, and with not a moment of public domain trailer footage, this well-researched film delivers.
Not ready for inclusion in the James Dean Collection, it arrived on DVD in late September.
