And why Creep for Radiohead? That song is certainly not reflective of their body of work. I stick by Paranoid Android.
I certainly agree that "Creep" is not reflective of all of Radiohead's work. However, I pictured the concept of a "signature song" here as something that people IN GENERAL will always identify a band by. Radiohead's music has become more experimental and less of a "radio friendly" style. I'm not saying this is a good thing. "Paranoid Android" is certainly a breakthrough for the band and their most recognizable song of their newer style, but I contend - for now - that "Creep" is still more of a signature tune until a few more years perspective gives us the ultimate overview of the band's legacy.
By the way, this is going to be a problem for a lot of bands we could bring up here. A band like Radiohead is going to be remembered as influential and unique in their evolution in sound. But what is the general public going to think? It's like I said about Talking Heads. They've done an immensely diverse and interesting body of work, however most people are going to remember something really lame (IMHO) like "Burning Down The House," because it was a hit.
