480i VS 480p ?? (1 Viewer)

Im getting the Panny RP-82 for Christmas and it will be my first proggresive dvd. My qeustion is, Why would I want to change from 480i to 480p or vise versa?
Shouldnt I leave it on 480i for the best pic all the time?

Eric,
The only reason to switch from 480p to 480i is if you hook the player to a set that won't display 480p, or if you want to experiment to see how the line doubler in the set compares to the de-interlacing of the player.
