A bit of history, we remodeled the familyroom, my wife
didn't like the PB2+ due to the color, showed her PB2Ultra
she said "get it", ordered 3/19 with custom stain to match flooring.

Delivery complete! about 45min ago, the driver helped me carry it
into the familyroom. My wife came in to see what I'd done without her
approving color, opened box and she said was "much better than the black one!

Unpacked everything, my wife saw the sample I sent and handed to the
our contractor...he said " they did a great job of matching the color"

Now for the true test, did a quick calibration, all ports open, ss at
16Hz and got my now infamous demo DVD. After the 1st couple of tracks
I notice that it sounds different...for the better. Not sure how,
just better! The 1st scene I noticed the difference was Resident Evil
SB, at the beginning when the guy is stealing the virus and places
the tubes in the case and the case locks. With the 2+ it was a dull
thud, with the 2U it had more punch. Definitly feels different, Black
Hawk down Irene scene, the rotors have much more impact. The part
where they show the prisoner and he's watching his tea before
sipping. With 2+ I couldn't feel much, but the sound was there, with
the 2U I could feel each blade go by.

Enjoy the sub it looks very sharp with the floor. Did you find you had to change your calibration settings very much?? RICK

Gain is slighly lower, everything thing else is the same.
PEQ is in it's default setting. Will play with that tomorrow.

Just gorgeous; I love that finish.

Agreed - it sounds even better than the vaunted PB2+. SVS is rather modest when it comes to the advantages of the Ultra line-up; the TV-12 driver is really unparalleled in SQ and tactile response.

BTW - Please be careful with that 3/16 mismatched tune; even the PB2-Ultra can be smoked if you aren't careful.

WOW that sub is massive! It’s very hard to tell the actual size unless you have something else to scale it too. The finish looks great too, blends right in with the floor.

It's actually better now, we used to have a slider that
vaibrated violently...no vibrations or rattles with the french doors

It's white oak, a new product from Italy. You know it's
good when the contractor says "this is lot better than
what I usually use"...it better for as much as it cost;)
