With the release of the USA Today/ESPN poll, I thought I would start a discussion about the upcoming basketball season.

Duke a nearly unanimous #1 in preseason poll.

I'm stunned that North Carolina, the defending national champhions, are 36th. I knew they lost their top 7 players, but damn!

I'm sure this thread will be dominated by men's D1 basketball, but feel free to discuss women's basketball as well as D1-A, D2, and D3.

I'm suprised Oklahoma is #6? WOW.

I don't expect Ok. State to be unranked for very long. They are loaded.

That is a lot of talent to lose. I'd say it is fair.

It is indeed that time of year or getting there abouts. North Carolina lost a lot. No surprise that Duke is number 1.

My GT jackets also got the snub, but losing a handful of seniors and Jarrett Jack will do that to you. I hope we can prove the naysayers wrong and have some recruits step up and play some smothering defense, and knock down shots on the offensive end.
