Am I alone here - I thought Tailor of Panama was the worst movie I've seen in a few years.

I also though AI was a waste. The first half was good, then it went downhill.

I'm really surprised to see Brian Cox get as many mentions as he has for L.I.E.. Not that he wasn't very good in it, but the fact that the film was so small and the subject matter so controversial, I didn't figure many would remember. No chance for an Academy nod, BTW.

Color me skeptical on Richard Corliss' top pick. I haven't seen Kandahar and know it's been getting good reviews, but its selection as best of the year strikes me that its topicality to current events may have been an overriding factor.

Keep 'em coming, Edwin. I find these lists extremely insightful, not necessarily on their own, but as a compendium. When a movie starts to make its presence on more than one list, you get the idea it's not an anomaly, e.g., affects the reviewer for personal, singular reasons.

I'll try and obtain a copy of the latest Paper magazine for their top ten list. What I was able to skim struck me as very interesting...granted more of a art house flavor, but potential good films nonetheless.

Now the real fun is when you see a film on more than one top ten list and worst ten list. I love when a film polarizes the movie community.

Didn't the National Board of Review release a top ten recently (with Moulin Rouge at the top)? If so, could you add it to this thread, please?

Although I have not seen it, I am a bit surprised I have not seen A Beautiful Mind on a single list. My perception is that it is showing very strongly.

BFCA--The Shipping News? Are you kidding me? Looks like Lasse Hallstrom has pulled another one over the eyes of the voters again. I didn't expect this film to get any mention after I saw this strictly middling drama. So it goes...

I've compiled a list of the titles that have appeared so far in the top 10 lists posted here. The only criteria is the title had to be in a top 10 list (so I didnt count most of the critic's circle awards, and only the top 10 of Jeffery Well's list was counted). The list shows the number of appearances in a top 10 list, and the position in any list didn't matter.

*ok if someone can help me to get this lined up correctly that would be great... apparently vbulliten doesn't like extra spaces cause it looks fine in the edit window.*
