I am pretty sure I recall reading that at least one manufacturer made 2-piece RPTV's, for people with space issues(tight corners, stairwells, etc.).

If so, which companies do? I have a friend with an old house, small stairway, and large upstairs room. He'd like a 57"-65" set, but a 1-piece unit would never make it up.

    Thanks for any help.

PS- He is not interested in alternative technologies(DLP, FP, plasma, etc.) at this time.

Mitsubishi makes a RPTV that is two pieces, but I believe that was only their 73"model. I do wonder why would your friend would not be intrested in DLP.

Toshiba's 57" and 65" also have the split cabinet.

Hitachi 57 and 65 have them also. Not on their F models though.

Thank you very much for the replies. I'll check their sites for dimensions, etc.

Has anyone ever actually used this feature? I'm wondering how involved the process is?
