This thread is more humorous than a technical issue about computers so I put it here in the After Hours section. If it has to go to the Computers and HTPC area I understand.

The picture below is from a 1954 issue of Popular Mechanics Magazine. This is what scientists from the RAND Corporation thought a home computer might look like in the year 2004.



I particularly liked this statement:

With Teletype interface and the Fortran language, the computer will be easy to use. :D

I rather like the monitor, so convenient up there on the wall... :D

Actually, some of the other entries from that contest are still viewable at the link in the snopes article, and a couple of them are at least as funny as this one.
