ive been reading about this, and you guys have the idea! I love pioneer (use a low end 412 myself) and definatly will look into this as an upgrade into 7.1. One thing i could not find though on information is on the Xover... What is the HP and LP Xover settings available on this unit...
thats what i was looking for! I figured it would help one way or another. I was more concerned about light than anything, i figured my current setup is a dark green untextured drywall that pushes a lot of glare from the screens reflection. Thanx!
Was wondering... would using a heavy texture before painting help with a home theater setup? Wouldn't it kill excessive light as well as give better accoustic properties? Just curious... Thanx! JW
i bought a quart of silver screen paint at HD. Anybody got pics of before and after on blackout cloth? Would just this paint alone enhance... anything? I am going to experiment with it just to do so, but wanted ideas and opinions... PICS if you got em!!! Thanx guys!
Cool, thanx for the advice. Im thinking ill go with the X1 since ebay still has some new ones in the box. Also, i dont need the brightness of the X2 as in the room i am currently in, i spraypainted (sounds ghetto, but works very well for .99 a can!) the windows black and prepped them just right...
soon, i will move into a new house, where ill be using the basement as my showroom. Since the screensize will be larger than joanns fabric offers budget blackout, and im too cheap to buy a good screen :D... I want to prep and paint a wall as a screen instead of using an actual screen. Should...
hey guys, Im going to be using S-video to my projector which is connected through 25Ft Dayton S-video cabling. I was wondering, if i put a splittler (switchbox) on the end so i can chose between DVD, Computer, and Gamecube, and i going to be mising on any quality? I already own one from...
hey guys! Im looking to get a DVD player to go with my soon-to-be Infocus x1a... i dont want to spend a ton of money, and dont need recording ability. My main concern was i read that they no longer put the deinterlacing chip in the X1a like they did in the X1... and i heard that you must...
i took a .40 mH 20Ga coil and a 5.6 uF cap to get a 12Db octave Xover for the tweets. I put a single .25mH 20awg coil on the woofer to keep them from hitting too high. I dont know if i can post pics here, though, or i would... :D But i must say, there isnt a single person who hasnt been...
I bought, from parts express, the 5 1/4 sheilded #295-300 woofer and the Vifa 3/4" poly dome tweet #264-500. I installed them at a X-over of 3500Hz (12Bd for tweets, 6Db for mids) in .5 cubes each mid and ported 40Hz. The setup is only in stereo right now (single tweet and mid for each left and...
i doubt i can, but its worth asking. Ive got a temp DVD player that will use digial coaxial for sound and my receiver is able to hook up to this type of connection as well. Can i use a regular RCA cable to capture this sound? Or am i stuck buying a new cable?
im going to be doing 1 1/8" tweets and 5 1/4" mids all around (5.1). I do a lot of car audio, but im not sure about the Xover on these guys. I was thinking of having the tweets do 3000Hz HP and the mids 3500Hz LP. Once i get my subwoofer, i was going to have a 60-80Hz HP on the speakers and have...
Makes perfect sense, since no two drivers are truely identicle.. but i wonder: Why do some of even the highest respected (and priced) brands use dual midrange in their center channels?
Im a poor guy, so i need cheap stuff :D well not cheap quality of course! The only thing that i could find was a basic pioneer 5.1 reciever. Any suggestions? Links are my friend ;) :D
DOH! lost all my text do to having a link... OK anyways, i was saying that im sorry, that was a typo. Dayton is the brand i was looking at. Price range? Well, cheaper the better! But dont want horrid pyramid like quality. I do a lot of car audio and only know car audio, so the whole home...
I got a room in my basement ready to go! Got it all designed and everything, but im in need of a good 5.1 system... I have only done minor research, hence, why i am here. I was looking into some of the low end Dayton 5 1/4"s and some of their 1 1/8" tweets. Anything else for about the same...
