My vote for a suicide inducing double-feature: "Glengarry Glen Ross" and "Equus" If the viewer is not ready to die after watching these two films, then they are the world's *utmost* sanguine.
My favorite film of all time just got better. The extended version answers the questions I once had, and only adds to the hope and expectation of the 'Harvey Scissorhand's' version. What was a great film is now glorious.
It seems to me that the studios would be well-served if they took advantage of some of your reviews when promoting their DVD's on television. I'm sure someone has suggested it before, but with the growing popularity of the format, it seems more people would benefit from knowing the quality of...
This film transfer is 'okay' when projected from the front. Like someone else said earlier in the thread, the CGI looks great, but the actors look 'fuzzy.' There are many films out there with better transfers. "The emperor is nekkid."
The film was shot in Super 35. Those so-called 'fool screen' purchasers are not going to be missing that much. Don't get me wrong, I'm OAR all the way, but the fact remains, they won't be missing that much of the picture.
Why would I experience this with this film, and no others? I can't figure it out. I've got a Sharp projector (a good one) and this is the only film I've seen it in. It's only in certain portions of the picture. Could it be a bad disc?
I have a Sharp M20X w/DLP, and have been quite pleased with the picture on it. It even rated *very* high on the Projector Central website. It has a built in progressive scan feature with "2D, 3D, and Film" settings within it. On all the discs that have been rated the equivalent of "4 Stars" on...
Aaron - I had some visual problems with this disc as well. It's a wonderful transfer, but I've seen better on my projection system. Maybe it's something to do with the all-digital nature of the film. Jeff
Paul - I'm with you on this one (except for the sound). I, too, have a good DLP projector, and this disc just does not measure up to others I would consider 'reference' quality. Jeff
We watched it tonight, and I guess I'll be the Lone Ranger on this topic, but on 96" projection screen, this 'film' looks very good, but not great. The wife and I watched Moulin Rouge last night, and I would rate it a 9.5 on the transfer. AoTC rates a 7. Again, it's good, but does not appear...
Except for a few years when I let politics get in the way, I've always had a bit of a crush on Babs. I was a little wary of purchasing this film on DVD, but it looked great. The music is wonderful, the sets are Technicolor marvels, and the transfer makes it all shine. If you're a fan of this...
