Did you check your speaker wiring? If you are using bare wire, make sure that it does not touch the recivers chasis. This can cause a short and produce unexpected results.

Can you suggest a good multi region dvd player (R1 and R3). Preferably one that can play DVD, VCD, MP3, CD. Prog scan nice but not essential. DVD-A or SACD capability will be great but not important. $400 budget.

AR, Radio Shack or Monster Cable will work fine for coax digital. As for speaker wire just use 12 guage from home depot and you will be good to go.

Sorry for this newbie question but what does speaker feet do? I know they are supposed to decouple the speaker from whatever item they are sitting on but will not having speaker feet installed affect the sound quality?
