    DVD-Audio HookUp Questions

Ok, I may be behind the times a bit, but trying to catch up. There a new kid on the 5.1 block, it's called DVD-Audio. We recently bought a car that has DVD-Audio and I want to upgrade my system to be able to play the discs we are buying for the car. I think i can do this with my trusty...

Which DVD Players can display Component AND Composite at the same time?

Brian, Have you confirmed this absolutely, positively, with a doubt? The reason I am asking is that this unit is on my A list at this time. It seems to be a pretty good unit for the price. Ulitmately I want to get one of the "best" untis, but with DVD-HD on the horizon, I thought the 45a...

Which DVD Players can display Component AND Composite at the same time?

In my home, I need to be able to display the DVD source in my Living Room in Progressive via the Component Output AND display the DVD in another room via Composite Output. Which DVD Players with DVD-Audio can do this? Which ones cannot? This is the kind of info that is hard to get from...

So this unit cannot display a Progressive Signal at the same time as a composite signal. Darn. My trusty Toshiba can. Does anyone know which models can do this?

What's with DTS CDs being packaged as DVD-Audio?

I noticed that there are numerous DTS CDs being packaged in the same special CD Cases as DVD-Audio DVDs? Are these actually the same DTS CDs I bought years ago, just repackaged or are they actually DVDs with the same encoding as the older DTS CDs? Is DTS part of the DVD-Audio specification?

    Anti-Reflective Cover for my RPTV

There is a large window about 15' from the front of my RPTV. Are there anti-reflective covers that can go over the screen that will reduce reflections?

Pull on one cord to lower or raise the blinds as usual, pull on the other to raise or lower the transition between sheer and blackout shades. Leave the sheer shades down...

    Upgrade DSP-A1 w/TX950 Tuner to RX-V1?

Hmmm, why replace the RX-V1 w/the Z1? Could it be because of DPL2 and having to keep up with the "Jones"?

Pioneer DV-434: You Get What You Pay For

Robert, I am well aware of the fact that the Pioneer RPTVs lock into full mode when receiving a progressive signal. The 6200 has a scaler that allows it to make a DA conversion of a 4:3 DVD to display in full mode progressive. What I'm getting at, is why can't a DVD player do the same thing...

Pioneer DV-434: You Get What You Pay For

Robert, So, the 6200's aspect control feature is meant to allow viewing a 4:3 DVD in progressive mode. Nothing more, nothing less. There is no way to avoid the additional DA conversion associated with non-anamorphic letterbox DVDs. It seems that there may be some advantage for a DVD player...

Pioneer DV-434: You Get What You Pay For

Scott, Since you don't have a progressive TV, then you will only be able to use the 6200 in interlaced mode. I suspect that you will simply tell the unit during setup and it will never switch to progressive. From Obi's post, it sounds like if you have a progressive TV, you need to select the...

Pioneer DV-434: You Get What You Pay For

Obi, Thanks for the explanation. Some last questions, can the 6200 send interlaced and progressive signals through the same component video inputs? Or do I need to use two sets of cables? And one last clarification: The 6200 will output a progressive signal for all anamorphic discs and 4:3...

Pioneer DV-434: You Get What You Pay For

Will the 6200 aspect control feature address the "locked in full mode" problem related to my Pioneer RPTV? If so, then does it do it automatically like the Pioneer 434? Or will I have to physically select between anamorphic and non-anamorphic sources? I may have something mixed up here. I...
