While watching Inception, the scene in Cobb's home of the hallway lined with photos, I was reminded of a similar scene in another movie, but for the life of me, can't remember the name of it. I recall the hallway lined with photos, I think of the children. I recall an auto accident that happened in the past, perhaps killing one or more child? I recall a racquetball court built in an attic, accessed through a trap door in the floor of the racquetball court. I'm almost certain it was set in the Hamptons, and it was based on a book.

Any ideas?

...And then there's the guy who saw the sign that said "Wet Floor", so he did.

I do not recall the racquetball court, but I'll suggest...

The Door In The Floor

Yes! A gold star for Walter!! You have alleviated my ongoing self-torment! And the title refers to the trap door used to access the racquetball court.

Huh.  And here I was going to guess Robocop, though I didn't remember Murphy having a racquetball court.
