Bridging?? (1 Viewer)

I have a rather strange question. I have a Parasound 1201a monoblock(150 watts)running my Axiom vp150 center channel. My receiver is a Denon 3802 (110wpc). Is it possible to use both the parasound amp AND the amp from my 3802 to run my center channel? The center channel has only one set of binding posts so I am assuming that I am unable to do it. If this question makes any sense I would appreciate any feedback.

Nooooooo.

Bridging is ONLY for amps that have been designed as such. Running a speaker with two different amps at the same time is extremely bad. i.e. smoke and fire and brimstone!

Some amps that are stereo can be bridged to form a mono amp. If not expressely set up as such, NEVER do it. And DEFINITELY don't do it with two different amps, such as a monoblock and the amp in your reciever.

You should just plug your monoblock into the pre-out on your reciever, and use that as the amp, or just use the reciever's amp.

In my haste I'll clarify my statement, because running a speaker with more than one amp is possible, it's called bi-amping. It's NOT using more than one amp on one set of binding posts, but if you have 2 (or more) binding posts on a 2-way(or more) speaker, you can remove the bridges between the posts, and use separate amps to handle the high and low frequencies of the speaker. This is NOT possible on a speaker with one set of binding posts and invites disaster. Only bi-amp if you know what you are doing. It's not hard for those who want to, but simple mistakes (like leaving the bridges on) lead to things like fire if you don't take a little time to do some research...
