Do the season 7 BDs come with English subtitles? Not sure if those are possible with MOD. Thanks!

Initial reports are saying no HD audio at all ,significantly lower video bitrates and inferior menus with no bookmark feature so it looks like we've paid a lot more money for an inferior product but at least the discs are pressed

Great. That's what I get for pre-ordering and being a loyal customer. Should have waited for reviews. Doesn't make sense, I'm paying $7 more for worse picture quality?

I got this Thursday, but didn't get a chance to check it out until this morning.

I can confirm there is no HD audio. Also, no animated menus, no cardboard slipcover for the case
(I'm really miss that). The plus side is the discs are-as noted by Ken earlier-pressed, not burned which is a relief.

The video quality looks great, and my PS4 doesn't map bit rates so I couldn't tell you the difference between previous releases, and season 7.

I'm not going to jinx this, and complain about what isn't on this set. I'm pleased that season 7 was even released on Blu-Ray. To my eye the picture is just as good as the earlier seasons, and that is most important to me. I will continue to support all future releases on Blu-Ray.

I think there's no doubt this season 7 Bluray is losing out in a few places compared to the earlier releases but the key ingredients of having superior pictures and sound over the dvd seem to be still in place and that's what counts.

No bookmarking might be a tad inconvenient but I couldn't care less about a slipcover.

I can never tell the difference between standard audio and HD audio on a mono track anyway.

Apologies if this has already been posted or is known.

No doubt Blu-ray is the way to go for the serious collector of this series. But just for information for those who don't mind "owning" some of their HD content via streaming video, Vudu.com currently is selling the entire Little House on the Prairie series on HDX 1080p for $19.99. That's the same price as each individual season.

I have a Vudu account and have redeemed plenty of UV codes there for the Blu-rays I've purchased, as a convenient backup to the disc that I can watch when on vacation or whatever. This is the first actual purchase I've made for content I don't already have on disc. I figured at this price it was worth it, as I don't see myself collecting this particular series on disc.

Thanks, guys! Sounds like Blu is the way to go. Hopefully we'll get the rest of the series on Blu.

Wonder if anyone has done any screen captures comparing the exact same scenes between the season 7 dvd and bluray versions. (I didn't see any on other web sites which have threads covering the Lionsgate LHotP re-releases).

There is some idle speculation (on other message boards) which asserts that the season 7 blurays might be mastered from the streaming hd versions. Though nothing proven definitively (yet),

If Lionsgate has any plans to release a LHotP complete series set on bluray (even if it's just to clear out old inventory), then they would have to eventually release season 8 and 9 on bluray (even if they're just amazon exclusives).

If not, then it doesn't matter what they do.
