Hello, everyone. I hope it is okay I add to this thread.


I have been looking to replace my Sony KDS-60A2000 and I came across this thread. I decided that the Samsung PN60F8500 was the set for me, but I am having a heck of a time finding them in stock for a reasonable price anywhere. I was hoping to spend less than $2000. Sears had them on sale, but they are out of stock on both 60" and 64" models.


If I don't have any luck acquiring this television, what would be the next best set?


EDIT: Is the KDS-60A2000 old enough that at this point just about anything is an improvement?


EDIT 2 (1/9/2014): I didn't want to bump this thread again, but ShopHQ doesn't seem to have any, either. At least not the 60F8500 or 64F8500. I'm going to start a new thread. Thanks for the help, schan1269.

LCD is a downgrade from an SXRD.

Try to find a plasma. ShopHQ apparently still has some.

Yeah, but you're not enjoying the best plasma TV on the market either.

Over the weekend, we got a 51" 5300 series for the bedroom. Within one minute of firing it up, I kind of regretted not splurging on a 64" 8500 series for the TV room when I had the chance. Kind of.


My DLP will last until OLED is affordable, and OLED will be even better than plasma! Yep, that's my story!
