The Great Escape Wrong Aspect Ratio (1 Viewer)

THE GREAT ESCAPE- one of the greatest world war two films is in need of an aspect ratio adjustment. The current dvd has an aspect ratio of about 2:78. When the special edition which I understand is in the works, comes out I hope it is corrected to its proper aspect ratio of about 2:35. Believe me this film was not filmed in ultra-panavision 70.

The current DVD is misframed, revealing too much image on the right side.

Many people are hoping to see a SE of this title, myself included.

There a 2 DVD SE available in R2, so one might hope to see it arrive in R1...

More than likely both. I have the R2 UK version. I really like it.
