For those of you who have received the Memento DVD in your Gold Box, what have you purchased from Amazon? I'd really like to know how the contents of the box are determined.

I've come to the conclusion that what you've purchased from amazon previously has nothing to do with what you've purchased in the past. I've purchased nothing but DVDs (easily over $1000 worth) and a few CDs from amazon, but I've seen a total of four DVD offers since the Gold Box thing got started. My secret? I try to check my Gold Box every 12 hours, and amazon usually lets me. I've gotten way more offers for tools and junk than for anything else. But, roughly estimated, for every 50-75 junky things I get offered, I get a really sweet deal on a DVD.

I only had 2 offers in my Gold Box tonight; the second one had the link to 'pass,' but instead of 'and go to next item,' it said 'and close your Gold Box.' In addition, at the top of that item's display area, where the five numbered circles are usually shown, with the current item's number highlighted, only 2 were showing! Sure enough, passing on that item closed the Gold Box, now 'not available for 24 hours.' Weird. Anybody else run across this? New Amazon tricks being played on me? Silly Gold Box!
