SYNOPSIS
From the minds behind Searching comes Missing, a thrilling roller-coaster mystery that makes you wonder how well you know those closest to you. When her mother (Nia Long) disappears while on vacation in Colombia with her new boyfriend, June’s (Storm Reid) search for answers is hindered by international red tape. Stuck thousands of miles away in Los Angeles, June creatively uses all the latest technology at her fingertips to try and find her before it’s too late. But as she digs deeper, her digital sleuthing raises more questions than answers…and when June unravels secrets about her mom, she discovers that she never really knew her at all.

I loved this movie and pre-ordered the disc as soon as Amazon put it up. I can't wait to see it again.

Watched this.

This is the second movie, in recent memory, that takes place almost entirely within the confines of the Internet. I can't remember the other at the moment.

Interesting story. Has some nice twists. In all, pretty decent -- definitely worth a watch -- but not something I feel is worth more than a single viewing.

The other one you're thinking of is probably Searching. It is from the same creative team and is referenced in this film when June watches the streaming show about the Margot Kim disappearance (which was the plot of that movie.)

This movie was made instead of a more traditional Searching 2 because I don't think you really could have Margot go missing and David search for her twice without stretching credibility.
