My guess is that the FastPlay "feature" is for parents who plan to use the DVD as a babysitter. All parents have to do is stick the DVD in, and their tyke is taken care of for a little over an hour. No fumbling with the DVD remote is necessary. Kids are not likely to care about OAR or original sound mixes, and might actually be distracted by the black bars on a movie with as wide an aspect ratio at LATT. Someone please think of the children!

Same problem as well. Seems to just be due to the age of my DVD player. I have the same issue with MGM's Silence of the Lambs disc as well. But it's not that big of a deal, I'd rather wait til my player is slag before wasting money to get a new one over a few subtitles.
