Awhile ago, I emailed Echostar saying to fix the digital output being active, even when my PVR501 is in standby (aka "off"). It messes up my XBOX which shared the one Toslink input on my DD processor. Well, it seems in the latest 501 software, this is now how it operates as I've had no more problems with the shared toslink input and my splitter. 
They do seem to listen, which is great. I wonder why they never seem to use the "new features" though in the menus or their "mail" memu. Has anybody ever gotten anything in there?
