I want to have a PC room and a Media room. They are separated by a small bath. What I'd like to do is run s/pdif and dvi through wall into media room (hdtv) from pc room.

How long can these connections be and what kind of cabling would you recommend? Is there a better way?

I plan on using a rf remote like the ati remotewonder to control the pc from the media room...

Thoughts?

I don't know about dvi, but I have a 30 foot optical connection between my computer and my reciever. Works just fine.

I don't think I can use a toslink... I have an audigy 2 zs. It looks like a 3.5 mini. I assume I use an adaptor to convert it to rca. I am a real newbie. Sorry.

S/PDIF is a coax or optical cable and your DVI is another thing altogether.

Blue Jeans Cable offers some fantastic cables at a great price. I would give them a call and ask them what cables they would recommend for your setup. They would be able to tell you what each is good for too. I would think that 30 foot is ok with each one.
