Considering NASCAR has huge following, huge sponsors, and a huge spot on TV, this has to be in the works one would think. Any information?

Robert,

I have the same question. The HD-ready TV will arrive Saturday, probably during the Busch Race. I'll be without an HD tuner. My understanding is that Fox does not broadcast in HDTV, but limits its signal to 480p.

Perhaps some who've watched the NFL on Fox can add some insight.

I expect NBC will have HDTV for the season in July.

I asked this question elsewhere and got the answer that NASCAR was going to be in the 480p Widescreen format on Fox.

The shootout this past weekend was NOT (and was only 2.0 sound), but it may be that only the "main" races are going to be.

I watched the Shootout this weekend and it was in wide screen but I don't think it was in HD.

Don't forget that TNT also airs a handfull of the late-season races. Hopefully the powers-that-be at NASCAR were watching TNT's superb NBA All-Star weekend!

I really, really hope so. The football games looked and sounded great.
