Acoustic Research 2 Channel Sound Enhancement Unit ??? (1 Viewer)

Is this a technical marvel or hype?? Here it mentions that this technology was used in the making of U571, Jerry McGuire and Mummy. Is it worth buying to enhance the sound field of my HT??

I used the Original TDS Audiophile units on all channels a few years back. I was using a Yamaha DSP-A1/Sunfire Cinema Grand at the time.
They were extremely susceptible to amplifier magnetic fields and needed to be placed away from equipment or would add hum to the system.
They did change the sound but that was back when I enjoyed DSP manipulation soundfields also.
