The constant bickering and whining over what the Warners Archives chooses to release vs. what they do release seems a never ending topic in this section of the HTF. So in the spirit of fun as opposed to more bickering, I've arbitrarily listed 20 titles that Warners has the rights to, 10 "classics" and 10 that no one would call classic. :) The idea is to vote for the 10 that you would like (or at least interested in) to see Warners release on blu ray. Please stick to the titles on the list. This is not a "Titles I personally want to see Warners release on blu ray" thread. I'm just interested to see where the HTF consensus goes, the classics that allegedly everybody wants or the "pulp" that sells. The arbitrary titles:

Captain Sindbad (sic) (1963) with Guy Williams (6 votes)
Girl Happy (1965) with Elvis Presley (7 votes)
Holiday In Mexico (1946) with Jane Powell (7 votes)
Hot Rods To Hell (1967) with Dana Andrews (5 votes)
House Of Dark Shadows (1970) with Joan Bennett (4 votes)
Kansas City Bomber (1972) with Raquel Welch (4 votes)
The Liquidator (1965) with Rod Taylor (9 votes)
Lovely To Look At (1952) with Kathryn Grayson (8 votes)
Marie Antoinette (1938) with Norma Shearer (7 votes)
Mrs. Parkington (1944) with Greer Garson (5 votes)
New Moon (1940) with Jeanette MacDonald (6 votes)
Rosalie (1937) with Eleanor Powell (7 votes)
Sandokan The Great (1963) with Steve Reeves (3 votes)
She (1965) with Ursula Andress (11 votes)
Skyjacked (1972) with Charlton Heston (8 votes)
Strawberry Statement (1970) with Bruce Davison (1 vote)
Student Prince (1954) with Edmund Purdom (8 votes)
Susan And God (1940) with Joan Crawford (7 votes)
Thrill Of A Romance (1945) with Esther Williams (8 votes)
White Cliffs Of Dover (1944) with Irene Dunne (6 votes)

My list, in order of most wanted to least (although if anybody from WAC is listening, they would all be day 1, full price purchases as long as the releases are spaced out enough):

Lovely To Look At
New Moon (1940)
Rosalie
Student Prince
Holiday In Mexico
Thrill Of A Romance

The only other movie on that list would be Girl Happy, although that is low enough on the list that would only be a 4 for $44 sale for me.

House of Dark Shadows is already on blu, but the WB blu may be out of print judging from it's Amazon page. That would make it ripe for a WAC reissue. To be honest, I'm one of those who would like to see WAC put out a lot more pre-1950 titles, but I would be hard pressed to select any "must have" titles from that particular list. Perhaps that just shows that beyond a few major titles we'll never find consensus on what we want as a whole. Being a Buster Keaton completest, maybe New Moon since Keaton was supposed to have a supporting role, but for some reason his scenes were cut with the exception of a "blink and you miss it" cameo at the film's beginning.

I'm going to bicker and whine about that list, it's not fit for purpose. I only want one title on it, She (1965). No Warner Archive releases for me so far this year, let's see what the second half of 2019 brings (if only they'd ask me, I'd mark their card). :)

House Of Dark Shadows is out of print. Amazon is selling used copies for $38 and $93 for a sealed blu ray. It's not sold at all at the Warners shop.
