Hi,

I have a yamaha HTR 2071 home theatre. There is an function of video out.

Option > video out > hdmi 1-4

As per the manual, the video was to be sent out from the hdmi 1-4 connections (This is over and above the hdmi out connector).

How does one use this functionality.

I have to admit, I'm not sure what you're referring to with this video out option, but I've never heard of a receiver or processor that had the capability to configure an hdmi input as an output. I'm not even sure that's possible.

In the manual it's mentioned some of the hdmi inputs can be converted for video output. Attaching the manual screenshot.

OK, that doesn't output video through the selected input. As we've said, it can't do that. What it does is allow you choose an audio only input, for music, and watch the video from the selected hdmi input at the same time. So, you're watching football from your cable or streaming box that's connected to hdmi 1, but you want to listen to music. You select an audio only source and it lets you select in hdmi input to watch as you listen to the audio source. The audio (aka: music) source is played through the speakers at the same time the video source you selected is sent to the hdmi output.

The manual worded it badly.
