This isn't a pre-order, it's a signup to be notified of a pre-order. Online companies [like Amazon for example] make that available for many titles- you could sign up on Amazon to be notified of Star Wars DVD pre-orders if you'd like, although it would be a stretch to post that amazon was "taking pre-orders".
