Worst opening scenes... (1 Viewer)

I thought I would start this to accompany that Best opening scenes thread.
The one that sticks out to me is the opening of Alien 3. Before the opening credits are over we see the people that Ripley fought so bravely for, die while in suspended animation. A very depressing beginning to an even more depressing movie.

Interesting you view the opening that way (negatively), considering it affected you just the way it was meant to. That, to me, makes it a fairly good opening sequence.

My worst would have to be the last Batman film. Good lord that was bad....

The rest of the movie has a hard time matching the quality of the opening.

Funny, I love the opening of Alien 3; it's shocking as hell, and keeps you on your toes for the rest of the film.
And I'm with Chris; I've seen many bad movies, but Batman & Robin has one of the more memorable worst openings I've ever seen. Garish lighting, nipple/crotch shots, bad lines...it's like I stumbled into some big-budget porn film...

B&R is most certainly the worst movie i've ever seen, but my god i had forgotten just how bad the opening was!!! After that crap one-liner by Robin about "Chicks digging the car" i seem to remember turning around to see if anyone was actually laughing...
