I'm looking to get a turntable; i have this system

Can i just buy any turntable and play it through my stereo? Do i have to get a technics turntable. Any info please; i don;t have a clue about turntables

You will probably need a phono preamp of some kind. Which one you select depends on your budget.

Connect the preamp to the technics, connect and ground the turntable to the preamp. and no, you do not need to buy a technics turntable.

They're just like any other piece of audio gear. Some are great, some are not so great.

Oh, if you get a moving coil cartridge, your preamp must support that.
