Since Sony has decided again this year (2011) to ignore the 26-28 inch LCD screen size, I've been reading up on two competitor's models and it seems both have issues. But, I'm stuck with getting a 26inch flat panel for now to replace a 27inch Trinitron.
So, it's between the LG and the Samsung LEDs. I've read reviews on many websites and what I hear over and over is: tinny sound from the LG requiring a separate sound system and ghosting from the Samsung. Here are the models. Which would you buy?

Also, I have old equipment, all of which works fine. But, it doesn't have HDMI slots. I have a Denon HT system model DHT-683XP: http://usa.denon.com/us/downloads/pages/instructionmanual.aspx
and a Sony Progressive Scan DVD (I don't need a BR right now).

and a Panasonic VCR PV-9664 (which I use and don't want to give up yet)

Also, I am using Verizon Fios and have their cable box. So, if anyone has the time or inclination to look at all of this stuff, would you please suggest the best way to connect it since the only things with HDMI connectors will be the TV and cable box. Which TV will be the best to replace the 27 inch Sony and which will hook up OK with the other equipment? Sorry for being so indecisive, but I've given Sony a year to make me another happy Sony customer and they can't do right now. The Trinitron is becoming a monster to watch and really has to go. Wish I could go with a 32 inch, but space is too small.
