I remember hearing about that article but have never read it. Maybe it's just me, but I think people may be taking a bit to extremes. I also am not familiar with any of the products tested. For all I know they were $300 receivers that may not necessarily have the cleanest output signals. I would think that the sub out on a $1K or so receiver would be cleaner than a $100-$150 plate amp. And most commercial subs probably aren't even using something of that quality (not for an under $500 sub anyway). I will tell you one thing. I noticed much better performance from my K2 than my plate amps!
But these are just guesses on my part. I could just be a complete idiot!
