Are these good speakers for surrounds?
Of course they arent my first choice, but I can get a pair from my buddy for around $50.
Worth it?

I just took home a set of the 7.2 model yesterday to test. They were back in the box and ready to go back after an hour. When I played a move through them it sounded distant like listening through a tunnel. For music, unless the listener is directly in the sweet spot, they lack presence. Personally, I can't recommend them. If you are only going to use them as surrounds, however, they may work out for you. Just be sure to test them first.
