WEGA or VEGA (1 Viewer)

Is it pronounced Vega or Wega? It's just a reflected v right, or is it actually a w?

It is pronounced Vega. I think what looks like a W is really VV???

It's a logo designed to look like a double-V, but on paper it's a "W." And, yes, it is pronounced "Vega," like the star and the crappy old Chevrolet.

Oh the many IRC battles with people who though tit was two V's. Jack's right, spelled Wega, pronounced "Vega."

Perhaps it's a tribute to the chronic convergence issues you see on the smaller units with no service menu option to correct...



No biggie, but my WEGA breaks blue on one side of the 16x9 area and red on the other (top line).

I agree it's V V, not W, but for kicks I went to the Sony site and did a search for Vega and VVega and got no hits. A search for Wega brought up the TVs

its not a Double V, its spelled Wega with a "W"

but its like German, where "W"'s are pronounced as "V"s

Didn't say it was spelled with a double-V -- just noted that the WEGA logo, as it appears on the shipping cartons and in advertising, is itself a double-V. But in the body copy of the print literature and owner's manuals, Sony uses a "W."
