Hey RoundUppers!

Releases this week from Criterion, Twilight Time, Kino and Olive!

The Pride and the Passion will be coming my way on Tuesday from Amazon. Great price for a film I've never seen before.

Thanks Mike. Being a Joe Dante fan, I might pick up The Burbs down the road at some point if it falls to around the $5 price point. But nothing for me this week.

Thanks as always for the work that goes into putting the list together, Mike. Definitely Session 9 and Man In The Wilderness for me this week.

I've been debating putting together a set of Hell on Wheels' releases now that season five is coming out, but may wait and see if (or is that when?) a complete five season set is released on Blu-Ray.

- Walter.

I have a good many reviews upcoming in the days ahead, but most of them are for releases that come out later this month. I think I have four of the Twilight Time releases on my to-do list once the review copies arrive.

Thanks, Mike!

I'd never heard of that film version of Alfred the Great (1969), so I looked it up on IMDB. Sadly the reviews tend very negative. The real Alfred is now legendary but the film's scriptwriters felt they needed to replace the ordinary legends (e.g. burning the housewife's cakes) with some fresh new legends (pregnant wife held for ransom). Back then the Danes had terrorized France and Spain, and even for Alfred's forces to fight them to a negotiated treaty was a feat of arms for Saxon England.

At least Thomas Arne's 1740 opera Alfred is noble in character and ends with one of the all-time famous songs "Rule Brittania".

Thanks for the round-up ....Don't judge, I pre-ordered the 4K UHD of Angry Birds (future-proofing as I don't have a 4K UHD player or monitor) - it was $26.99 & there's a $5.00 web gift card gift card which they may have applied because they only billed me $23.88 - I has shipped (from Technicolor?) but is not due until Thursday ... I have received things on the Monday immediately before a Tuesday release date ... but not for new product

Looks like a good selection this week. I've got Lou Grant: Season 2 and The Dream Team on pre-order. I'll eventually get Theatre of Blood and Hardcore next time there's a Twilight Time or SAE sale.

Thanks, Mike!

Nothing this week, though I will be ordering from LaLaLand Records this weekend. So that kinda takes the place of my movie budget. :)

Thanks, as always, Mike!
