Standard disclaimer: All prices are taken from the websites of each chain, or from their printed Sunday advertisements. All prices are subject to change by each chain. Prices and inventory in-store may or may not match the website price.

I, obviously, cannot include EVERY title released in a given week in the RoundUp. The titles included are those that I am interested in...as well as those which I consider will be of interest to a majority of consumers (and sometimes I’ll miss one!). I don't get paid for this, and I don't have the time to list every DVD. So, please don't complain!
If there is a title not included in the RoundUp that you want to see, PLEASE just look it up yourself, and be nice enough to post and share the results with everyone!

Note that I cannot include Wal-Mart/Sam’s Club prices in the RoundUp. They set prices at individual stores based on nearby competition, so there is no way I can say here what price you'll find at YOUR local Wal-Mart/Sam’s Club location. And, Circuit City is still out of business...even in Hawaii (where they NEVER guaranteed their prices anyway).

Much like last week's "hidden link" to Claudette Colbert in the milk bath...you will find, this week, a link to Sophia Loren's striptease that is so sizzling it "all but sets the pasta on fire!"

Thanks Mike. Beverly Hills Cop and the Comancheros for me this week. $4.75 for Pawn Stars S1 is a great price, I just don't know what king of repeat viewing you would do with that.

I'll pick up Twilight Zone: Season Four if the Costco near me actually stocks it. If not, my cheapness wins out and I'll wait to pick it up. I'll also grab Deep Red at some point. After looking at the pics above, I have a sudden interest in Yesterday, Today and Tomorrow. :) Thanks for the prices!

The new animated Thor when it hits $9.99 in about three weeks. And GoBots from the Warner Archive at some point. Another slow week for me.

Well, now I'm kind of annoyed. The Dark Knight BD is part of Best Buy's Trade & Save program, which would bring the price down to $9.99-$5=$4.99. I paid five dollars more last week. I wonder if they'll give me a price adjustment...

Although I am mostly a rental guy these days, the CC release of Diabolque is VERY tempting...what a great movie!

I have it on "very good authority" that (at least some) Costcos will be stocking TZ Season Four at 44.99, as what they were selling Seasons 1-3 for.

On a completely unrelated topic, my car needed an oil change so I GOT IT TODAY.

Blockbuster (United States) 5-for-$20 used disc sale includes BluRays for the first time ever. Blus must be $9.99 or less to be part of the 5-for-$20. This sale is not going to be promoted until Friday, but in fact it started today (Tuesday).

Originally people arriving before Friday were going to be required to say a password that would be revealed on Blockbuster's Twitter feed -- "Sneak Peek" -- but Blockbuster decided not to bother with that password after all. Still, keep it in mind just in case you are asked.

Many stores either got extra stock for this sale, or decommissioned some more rentals. A few stores might not be participating. Some stores may get in some more extra stock on Friday, but YMMV. There is also some speculation that come Sunday, some $12.99 titles may drop to $9.99, but I thought that prices at Blockbuster were programmed to change on Tuesdays?

Myself I'll probably check back on Fri/Sat/Sun just to see if anything changes. Meanwhile, I picked up Quantum of Solace, The Girl Who Played With Fire, Michael Clayton, Scott Pilgrim, and The Ghost Writer.

Other titles I'd considered getting which seemed to be in ample supply included The Road, The Imaginarium of Dr Parnassus, National Treasure 2, Coraline (but Blockbuster only got the movie disc half of the 2-disc set), I Love You Man, Mean Girls, Tell Tale, Terminator: Salvation (worth a blind buy if you need a fifth title) ...I didn't really pay attention to titles that weren't special-effects heavy since streaming is usually good enough for those... And of course there are always some titles with only one or two left which by chance have been hanging around longer than most: I saw some of the Kevin Smith films, Sunshine Cleaning, Deja Vu, Smart People...

Other forums have more extensive lists of what is likely to be available. I thought I'd just chime in with this info to help their ailing forefather, HTF...

Wow, nice! Last month I picked up a few things at a BB that was closing down, but even their closing sale wasn't that good.

I'm assuming that the BB deal blu-rays would include the rental versions that have been stripped down of extras, and not the retail versions? (where applicable)

I think there are at least one or two titles in this sale which the studio delivered as "movie-only, no special features".

More common is that some titles were released as 2-disc sets, but Blockbuster only received disc 1 -- especially from Disney or Paramount. Star Trek at retail has 2 discs, but Blockbuster only received disc 1, so that's what you'd get. Coraline was a BluRay+DVD Collector's Edition, but includes only the BluRay. On the other hand, some 2-disc titles, like Zodiac, do have both discs.

Update: Warner Brothers titles are likely to be rental versions. So Sherlock Holmes and 500 Days Of Summer are sans extras. The artwork says "Rental Version" on those, reportedly.

Yes, I asked an employee about that at the closeout sale last month. You can tell from looking at the case what extras are on the disc.

I stopped by last night, but the sale hadn't started yet. They gave me a little flyer that said "5 for $20 DVD & Blu-Ray marked $9.99 or under; 3 for $20 DVD marked $16.99 or under." Nothing about Blu-Rays marked $16.99 and under, though. They had a few copies of Despicable Me for $12.99. . .

Aaron, I'm sorry you thought the sale hadn't started yet. It actually started a few days ago, on Tuesday, but as a sneak preview with the limitation that stores were not allowed to put up signs yet (but all cash registers would correctly ring up 5-for-$20).

Today, Friday, the sale continues, now with stores allowed to put signs up.

And you are correct, $9.99 and under BluRays are only part of the 5-for$20 sale, the more expensive BluRays are not part of any deals.

If you haven't opened it return it then get your $5 co.upon with a trade in, buy a different copy for $4.99 If you have opened it. Take a trade in, get the coupon then buy a different copy and use the first receipt to return the unopened copy. That is if they don't let you price adjust.

Oh, they had signs up advertising the sale as starting the next day. There were also signs up for the standard 4 DVDs for $20 sale, which was ongoing at the time. I asked the store employees about it and they told me that it wasn't starting until the next day.

No biggie, as I just stopped by after work the next day. Interestingly, I went to a different BB, and some of the BDs that were $9.99 at the BB the day before were stickered $12.99. I checked with an employee and he looked them up on the computer. Sure enough, they were supposed to be $9.99 and rang up as such. Too bad Despicable Me was still $16.99 though. :)

Scott Pilgrim and Superhero Movie, the ones I specifically wanted, were the mismarked titles (go figure!). To fill out the 5 I got Gandhi, Coraline, and the Clone Wars movie. (Most of what I wanted I'd already picked up at the recent going-out-of-business sale.)
