(CC) after a title = a new Criterion Collection release.

Pam Grier Collection (Fox in a Box): Coffy, Foxy Brown, Sheba Baby.

The Disclaimer Standard disclaimer: All prices are taken from the websites of each chain, or from their printed Sunday advertisements. All prices are subject to change by each chain. Prices and inventory in-store may or may not match the website price.

"LP" in the RoundUp table means a store’s Sunday flyer says "Low Price". That means I could not locate a definite price for the item, and the ad is all I have to go on. Retailers use these phrases in advertisements so that they do not violate MAP (Minimum Advertised Price) agreements with the studios. Doing so can cost them thousands or even millions of dollars in co-op advertising funds.

I, obviously, cannot include EVERY title released in a given week in the RoundUp. The titles included are those that I am interested in...as well as those which I consider will be of interest to a majority of consumers (and sometimes I’ll miss one!). I don't get paid for this, and I don't have the time to list every DVD. So, please don't complain! If there is a title not included in the RoundUp that you want to see, just look it up yourself, and be nice enough to post and share the results with everyone!

Note that I cannot include Wal-Mart/Sam’s Club prices in the RoundUp. They set prices at individual stores based on nearby competition, so there is no way I can say here what price you'll find at YOUR local Wal-Mart/Sam’s Club location. And, as always, Circuit City does not guarantee their sale prices in Hawaii.

Since the New software is back on hold...and all posts in that time period are "gone"....here's a repeat of this week's RoundUp for anyone who might want to check in and check out some prices.

I'm sorry...but I cannot re-create any of the supplemental material that was posted later on in the thread (CostoCo prices, additional target prices, etc.).

Mike as always, thank you! As a webmaster myself I know just how much work you put in. To have to repeat a huge post was a major (and much appreciated) effort.

Here's my small re-contribution to the thread:

Disney Treasures tins were $20.49 at Costco.
Green Acres S3 was $19.99 at Fry's.

Something which I forgot to post in the RoundUp for this week is that Target advertised in its flyer a BONUS DISC with its copies of The Happy Elf.

HOWEVER.......

I sent wife to pick up The Happy Elf at Target along with three other DVDs Tuesday. When I saw the Happy Elf package...there was no mention on the packge of a bonus disc...so I figured they A.) either didn't have any left, or B.) she just picked one up without the bonus disc (which I was hoping to be a soundtrack CD cuz I like Connick's music). Or, there ws option C.) which was that maybe the disc was sealed in the front of the cardboard slipcase. I say that because the slipcse almost looks like a Disney slipcse which has a hinged front cover with velcro holding it closed. But, it looks like that front cover is glued shut! Hmmmmm. After spending a fair amount of time trying to figure out if I was missing something in the latest line of ingenious DVD packaging, I decided it was just a sealed double cover.

So, I bring my copy back to Target tonight...leaving it in the car while I scope out the Happy Elf scene on the store shelves. All I find are packages identicial to what my wife picked out (she didn't screw up after all! :D ) AND...there are TWO shelf tags that say the bonus disc is "included". So, now I'm thinking its inside the amaray case and decide to head home with the original purpose.

I get home and open the amaray and find one disc with a picture of that damn Happy Elf grinning back at me (like something surreal out of the movie Christmas Story). Printed on the disc it says "Bonus 'Merry Matching' DVD-ROM game"!

So, NOW I think I've got a bonus disc with a dumb computer game on it but NO Happy Elf program disc!

I pop the disc in the ol' player and up pops the menu for the Happy Elf program. So, I guess I've got what I'm "supposed" to have...but not what was advertised.

I hate to add anything else onto EricSchulz's list of things to check into for me, but............ERIC!!!!!!!!! HELP!!!!!!!!!!!

Aaaargh! Tonight in my local Wal-Mart and see the Happy Elf in a bonus two-pack which includes a soundtrack CD like I was hoping for with the Target set....AND FOR LESS THAN WHAT I PAID AT TARGET!!! It was just $12.87! ($14.99 at Target)

AND...I have solved the mystery of why the front cover of the slipcase is so thick. On the Wal-Mart version of the slipcase, there is a little button that says "Push Me" and you hear a short soundbite of Connick singing a couple of lines from the song The Happy Elf AND there are some LEDs which represent bulbs on a s trong of Christmas lites which independently light on and off during the short song. They must have made all the slipcase covers the same way as those with the LEDs, soundchip and battery.

While I contemplated buying the Wal-Mart version adn returning the sealed movie disc at Target, I cannot tell if it's sealed under the outside two-pack shrinkwrap.

So, instead, I am contemplating returning the original to Target complaining that there is NO BONUS DISC as advertised in the flyer and on the shelf tag. Aaaaargh!
